Steve Beckstead Bass & Lead Vocals

My parents always sang, music was a part of our home. My dad played coronet in dance bands and sang in groups with my
mom singing back-up. Got my first real six-string guitar at age 12, discovered 12-strings at 14 and started playing bass in a
neighborhood band. Got involved in school choirs and small singing groups, played bass and was lead singer for SABRE in the
early 70's in the Salt Lake area. At Dixie College I majored in Theatre Arts and Music, performing in musicals (sorry
Randy...NOT) and sang with CIRCUS, a St. George rock band. After an LDS mission, sang and played with two acoustic folk
groups and participated in community choral groups. Now with my wife, we participate in several choral groups church and
community, having been with the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir since 1985. Music gives me life. Often my guitar is my best friend,
staying through thick and thin. With FLASHBACC, I sing, play bass and some 12-string. Still re-living those 70's Rockin' days!
